Workshop at the Buildings + Climate Global Forum

Workshop: Engaging policy to advance low carbon, resilient communities and quality of life

Wednesday 6th March 2024 | 9 am-5:30 pm

After March 4, contact gtilman@usgbc.org to inquire about late registration

Hosts: The Enniscorthy Forum, UK Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (Whole Life Cycle Policy Coalition), US Green Building Council.

Overview

Ahead of the Buildings + Climate Global Forum, this workshop brings together officials and staff from both national and local governments, policy experts and advocates, and leading building practitioners for an engaging day-long dive into the policies needed to decarbonize buildings and to create more resilient, livable communities. The workshop includes stage-setting panels in the morning, a networking luncheon, and an afternoon of workshop-style facilitated discussions. The day will conclude with opportunities to collaborate, to reflect, and to make personal commitments.

The aim is to prepare participants to the Forum with a global view by presenting examples from countries across the world, consider the role of Life Cycle Assessments and data in the Buildings Breakthrough, and promote a holistic approach to building decarbonization policy including resilience, education and systems thinking.
