CINDE, the Costa Rican Investment Promotion Agency, is the world´s #1 investment agency as recognized by UN International Trade Center. It relocated its main offices to San José, Costa Rica's technological district seeking to ensure greater operational efficiency, meet the new challenges of the knowledge economy and guarantee a memorable experience to potential investors. The new facility provides access to innovative and sustainable forms of urban mobility like the train and bike lanes while leveraging the country's 99% renewable electricity grid. In line with CINDE´s mission of driving social progress by attracting investment with purpose, the new space demonstrates a commitment to the country´s sustainability in its LEED® Gold certification.
This project is located in Torre Universal (which is also LEED certified). Therefore, CINDE achieved great savings through strategies, three of the main achievements were: savings in indoor water consumption of 52%, a total of 64% of waste during construction, diverted from the sanitary landfill through donations and recycling and through efficient electromechanical systems, savings of 17%. in energy consumption.
