Accessing an invoice

Here are the steps to prevent invoice cancellation and to reinstate an invoice.

Log in to LEED Online, search for your project using its unique project ID number and navigate to the "Payments" tab.
Ensure that the registration invoice is paid.
If the certification review invoice "Payment status" shows "Payment pending," you (or any LEED team member) may pay by credit card by clicking the credit card icon. You may also click the sales order number to download a copy of the invoice for specific payment details to pay via check (if applicable) or wire.
If the certification review invoice "Payment status" shows "Invoice canceled," you may generate a new invoice or submit for review from the "Credits" tab (if your team is ready for review).

Creating a prepayment invoice

To create a prepayment invoice, follow these steps:

Confirm the gross floor area (GFA) on the "Details" page of LEED Online. If the GFA is not correct for LEED v4 and v4.1 projects, you can edit by using the pencil icon on the "Details" page (for group projects, please contact us).
For LEED BD+C and LEED ID+C projects, go to the "Timeline" tab and choose the correct timeline ("Combined" or "Split"). If pursuing precertification (optional), select "Precert + split" or "Precert + combined."
Click the "Generate prepayment invoice" button associated with the appropriate review on the "Timeline" tab. Select the option to pay by check or wire and fill out the "Bill to" party details. This will create an invoice that may be paid by any method: credit card, check (for USD) or wire. Note that fees are calculated based on the fees schedule in effect on the date of invoice generation, taking into account the current GFA, timeline and rating system. We suggest creating prepayment invoices once the GFA, timeline and rating system are firm and as close as possible to review submission to prevent any delay.

As previously stated, you may pay by credit card by clicking the credit card icon. This is the fastest method of payment. You may also click the sales order number to download a copy of the invoice for specific payment details to pay via check (if applicable) or wire, as our bank details are noted directly on each invoice. Note that check and wire payment typically clear within 10 to 15 business days.

Generating a new invoice

If your certification review invoice was canceled after the project was submitted for review, follow these steps:

Visit the "Timeline" tab of the project in LEED Online and select the option to "Generate new invoice."
Select the option to pay by check or wire to generate an invoice. The invoice will be emailed and can also be found in the "Payments" tab of LEED Online. Invoices may be paid by credit card, wire and, in some cases, check. Note: Review will not begin until payment is received.
