If you’ve been reading your local USGBC newsletter or have recently visited our events calendar, you may have noticed a new pattern and look for USGBC’s engagements in local markets across the U.S.

In 2024, USGBC is taking its local engagements to a new level with our Building Transformation Forums. These in-person convenings are designed to bring stakeholders together around pressing climate issues affecting their local city, state or region.

Building Transformation Forums

Forums are built around a specific, locally relevant topic, such as decarbonization, the circular economy or equity in the built environment. They have an educational focus and may include thought leadership panels, tours of exemplary green buildings, interactive workshops, Women in Green events, workforce development sessions or networking celebrations.

Forum programming is led by local USGBC staff working in partnership with Market Leadership Advisory Board members, other dedicated volunteers and industry partners.

Implementing consistency in our format and range of topics allows us to elevate the quality of each engagement, bringing industry leaders to the table to discuss local issues and solutions, including solutions offered by USGBC and GBCI tools. Coinciding with the launch year of LEED v5, our forums also provide a platform for USGBC to connect and receive feedback from local markets.
