The Green Schools Conference (GSC) is now accepting proposals for interdisciplinary education sessions and skill-building workshops. Additionally, applications for volunteers to review the program to be presented during the 2025 in-person conference are now open. Submit a session proposal by June 24, and apply to be a reviewer by June 18.

GSC is the only national event to bring together all of the players involved in making green schools a reality: people who lead, operate, build and teach in U.S. schools. The 14th annual in-person GSC will convene hundreds of champions for sustainable schools to focus on educating, connecting and inspiring one another. Each year, the GSC offers attendees opportunities to explore interdisciplinary green schools content in general and breakout sessions, collaborate to address specific challenges with peers in workshops and facilitated networking events, exchange best practices, and enhance green school initiatives nationwide.

2025 GSC program

The 2025 GSC education program will address a range of topics related to sustainable schools, including environmental impact, health and well-being, sustainability literacy, and equity. Each session will feature an interdisciplinary team of presenters showcasing the intersection of these topics across a school, school district or community. We are accepting submissions for one-hour education sessions and two-hour hands-on workshops.

Whether you are a teacher, school or district staff member, educational leader, parent, student, building industry professional, or nonprofit partner, we hope you will consider showcasing your successful green school strategies at the GSC.

How to participate

All complete session proposals must be uploaded to the GSC 2025 submission site by June 24 at 11:59 p.m. ET. Consult the call for proposals and submission guide documents to determine where your proposal fits best and how it will be reviewed.

Apply to be a program reviewer

Program reviewers are essential to the development of the GSC program. These volunteers are expected to evaluate session proposals and help maintain the quality of sessions by identifying exceptional presentations. The entire review process takes place digitally and does not require an in-person commitment. In exchange for their participation, reviewers can earn continuing education hours and receive a discounted conference pass to GSC. Review the call for reviewers document for eligibility requirements and more information. Reviewer applications are due by 11:59 p.m. ET on June 18.
